Our Coins for Community partner for the first quarter of 2023 is My Friend's Closet, a part of Virginia Beach City Public School's Office of Family & Community Engagement. The closet stores and discretely distributes items such as food, clothing and hygiene items in a way that does not embarrass students. For example, if asked where they got their new coat, the student can reply, "Oh, I got it out of my friend's closet."

Their primary wish list includes:

• Household Items
• Headphones
• Water Bottles
• Cleaning Supplies
• Hygiene Items 

You may also fulfill requests from their Amazon Wish List. 

Coins for Community Partnership
Our coin machines are located at both branches. The machines count coins that you can deposit into your account or get cash back. Best of all, the coin machines take loose change, meaning you’ll never have to roll coins again!

There is a nominal fee for using the coin machines. Members are charged 2% of coin deposit, and guest members pay 4% of coin deposit. Rather than keeping the fee income, though, we are matching and donating all collected fees to our Coins for Community partner.
