Beach Municipal FCU offers two different types of certificates -- the Share Certificate and the IRA Share Certificate.
A share certificate is a fixed rate short-term investment account that pays a higher rate of interest than a regular savings account. A fixed amount of money is placed in the account for a specific period of time. Account holders, in turn, receive a fixed amount of dividends at intervals along the way, with an option to renew at the end of the specific time. Longer term deposits usually earn higher yields. Early withdrawal penalties may apply.
For our younger members, we offer special Youth Share Certificates with a very attractive rate and a low balance requirement. Click here to learn more.
Share certificates are also available as IRA investments. When planning for your retirement or investment future, be sure to consider these higher-yielding IRA share certificates. As a plus, dividends are paid back into the IRA account which can be a tax advantage.
