Position Title:  Full & Part-Time Member Service Representative/Teller               

Reports To:  Branch Manager                                                    

Status: Hourly/Non-exempt

Supervises: N/A

Primary Function

Performs various member savings transactions, share draft and credit account transactions, as well as, member services, such as non-cash negotiable tellers sales, ATM and audio response set-ups.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform comprehensive prompt and efficient member transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, ticket sales, cashier’s check, gift card and money order sales, and check cashing.
  1. Receive share deposits, loan and MasterCard payments, post to credit union computer system and generate proper receipts.
  1. Receive payments for mortgage, consumer, credit card and share secured loans, ensuring that payments equal the amount due and all late charges and fees, if applicable, are collected.
  1. Provide members with the forms necessary to transact business at the credit union.
  1. Examine deposit or cashed checks for proper endorsements and negotiability.  Apply the appropriate Funds Availability (Reg CC) hold to the account/deposit.
  1. Balance cash drawer daily and compare totals to computer-generated proof sheet.  Report discrepancies to supervisor.
  1. Understand and cross-sell all services offered by the credit union.
  1. Provide in-person and by-telephone response to members’ requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
  1. Receive information and documentation pertaining to members’ accounts and route to appropriate departments.
  1. Assist members in opening all new accounts as needed.
  1. Process stop payments on share draft accounts.
  1. Process mail and night depository transactions.
  1. Provide routine information on credit union services or policies, including eligibility for membership, types of credit union accounts, insurance on loans, loan policies, interest rates, current dividend rates, locations, office hours, telephone numbers, and service center information.
  1. Perform other functions as required.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in handling money with a proven accuracy record.  Member/customer service experience is helpful. Must be able to operate a computer and office equipment, typing skills essential. Good communication skills, team player, dependable, neat, detail oriented.

Position Title:  Part-Time Receptionist           

Reports To:  Branch Manager                                                    

Status: Hourly/Non-exempt

Supervises: N/A

Primary Function
Project positive image of Credit Union as a representative greeting and receiving guests and members. Answer telephone calls and direct to appropriate staff.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Receive and announce guests and visitors to the Credit Union.
  2. Answers telephone and route calls to appropriate personnel and record messages.  ​​
  3. Process and distribute mail and deliveries. Post credit card and loan payments received by mail.
  4. Process return mail and address update forms.
  5. Assist Lending Support Specialist and Records Specialist with the organization and filing of various documents.
  6. Organize, alphabetize and file various documents.
  7. Perform other clerical duties and functions for various departments as assigned.
  8. Assist members with inquiries and transactions, provided it does not interfere with proper distribution of calls.
  9. Maintain various logs as required.  (Vendor logs, Bad Address log, Mail log, etc.)
  10. Perform other functions as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.  Minimum one year previous switchboard experience with some office and/or secretarial skills. Must be well groomed with good human relations and communication skills.  Must be able to operate typewriter, computer terminal, and calculator with average speed and accuracy.
