Position Title:  Assistant Branch Manager
Reports To:  Branch Manager
Status: Hourly/Non-exempt
Supervises:  N/A

Primary Function:
Assist the Branch Manager with the overall operation of the branch. Assume responsibility for the branch when the Branch Manager is absent or away from the office.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Answer routine to complex questions on products and services, policies and procedures, or rules and regulations.
     
  2. Assist with the branch security to include open/close of the branch, vault, and safe deposit boxes.  Participate in all branch training, including but not limited to security, robbery procedures, policies & procedures, etc.
     
  3. Apply policies and procedures for the branch in areas such as check acceptance.
     
  4. Function as a Member Service Coordinator.
     
  5. On an as-needed basis, function as a Member Service Representative or Vault Custodian filling in for peak times or for a shortage on the teller line.
     
  6. Act as a loan officer within assigned level of authority.
     
  7. Provide input to Branch Manager on performance of branch staff for necessary evaluations and any disciplinary action.
     
  8. Assist Branch Manager in scheduling of branch staff to ensure effective coverage of all positions.
     
  9. Reinforce coaching of branch staff in cross-selling of products and services to achieve established goals.
     
  10. Assist in resolving any balancing issues of Member Service Representatives or Member Service Coordinators.
     
  11. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all credit union products and services.  Cross-sell all products and services offered by the credit union.
     
  12. Perform audits of Member Service Representatives and vault.
     
  13. Perform other functions as required.

     

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum:  High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years member (customer) relations experience in a credit union or financial institution. Possess a broad knowledge of departmental operations, policies and procedures. Must be able to operate a computer and office equipment, typing skills essential. Good communication skills, team player, dependable, neat, detail-oriented.

Position Title:  Member Service Representative/Teller (Full-Time and Part-Time)              
Reports To:  Branch Manager                                                    
Status: Hourly/Non-exempt
Supervises: N/A

Primary Function:
Performs various member savings transactions, share draft and credit account transactions, as well as, member services, such as non-cash negotiable tellers sales, ATM and audio response set-ups.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform comprehensive prompt and efficient member transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, ticket sales, cashier’s check, gift card and money order sales, and check cashing.
  1. Receive share deposits, loan and MasterCard payments, post to credit union computer system and generate proper receipts.
  1. Receive payments for mortgage, consumer, credit card and share secured loans, ensuring that payments equal the amount due and all late charges and fees, if applicable, are collected.
  1. Provide members with the forms necessary to transact business at the credit union.
  1. Examine deposit or cashed checks for proper endorsements and negotiability.  Apply the appropriate Funds Availability (Reg CC) hold to the account/deposit.
  1. Balance cash drawer daily and compare totals to computer-generated proof sheet.  Report discrepancies to supervisor.
  1. Understand and cross-sell all services offered by the credit union.
  1. Provide in-person and by-telephone response to members’ requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
  1. Receive information and documentation pertaining to members’ accounts and route to appropriate departments.
  1. Assist members in opening all new accounts as needed.
  1. Process stop payments on share draft accounts.
  1. Process mail and night depository transactions.
  1. Provide routine information on credit union services or policies, including eligibility for membership, types of credit union accounts, insurance on loans, loan policies, interest rates, current dividend rates, locations, office hours, telephone numbers, and service center information.
  1. Perform other functions as required.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in handling money with a proven accuracy record.  Member/customer service experience is helpful. Must be able to operate a computer and office equipment, typing skills essential. Good communication skills, team player, dependable, neat, detail oriented.
