SecureNow adds an extra layer of protection by confirming both your login credentials and the device you are using. If the system detects a new device or a login from an unfamiliar location, you may be asked to verify your identity with a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your phone via text or phone call. Entering this code completes the login process. This feature replaces security questions and applies to both browser and app logins

Setting up SecureNow is simple. Step-by-step instructions can be found above. You can complete the process by logging into Virtual Branch through a web browser or via our Mobile Banking App.

Please make sure the phone numbers we have on file are correct. If a number isn’t valid, you won’t receive your one-time passcode and won’t be able to log in.

Your username and password will stay the same. The one-time passcode replaces security questions.

SecureNow protects your account by recognizing your devices, locations, and typical login behavior. You’ll only be asked for a one-time passcode (OTP) if something about the login seems unusual or potentially risky.

Some examples of when the system might prompt you for a code:

• Logging in from a new device
• Using a different browser
• Connecting through a hotel or public Wi-Fi network (which can change your IP address)
• Using a VPN or private browsing mode
• Signing in from a location different than your typical login area

As SecureNow learns your usual login habits, you should see fewer OTP prompts over time. This way, your account stays secure while your login experience stays seamless.

Absolutely! You can have up to five phone numbers linked to your account for SecureNow passcodes. You can add a backup number yourself by logging into online banking and going to Settings → Security & Alerts → Manage Verification Code Delivery.

Note: adding a phone number under Manage Verification Code Delivery does not update your phone number on your account. It only provides another method to receive an OTP.

Absolutely! You can receive your one-time passcode via phone call to your home phone.

There are a few reasons you might see a denial message:

• Too many login attempts: If the wrong username, password, or one-time passcode is entered multiple times, the system may automatically lock the account to protect it. In this case, call us or visit a branch, and we can check SecureNow and unlock your account.
• Blocked locations or VPNs: The system may deny access from certain countries or networks. If you’re using a VPN, try turning it off and logging in again.
• Unsupported browsers: Make sure you’re using a standard, up-to-date browser like Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. Browsers that operate on the dark web, like Tor, will be denied automatically.

SecureNow is designed to stop fraud before it happens, so while a denied login can be frustrating, it’s helping keep your account safe.

We understand—it’s a big change, and it can feel frustrating at first. SecureNow is part of our commitment to keeping your online banking safe.

SecureNow uses multi-factor authentication (MFA), which adds an extra layer of protection to your account. It works by requiring two types of verification:

• Something you know (like your security code/password)
• Something you have (like your phone)

When you log in, SecureNow combines your password with the one-time passcode sent to your phone to make sure it’s really you.

This extra step helps prevent unauthorized access, even if someone were to guess or steal your password. It’s all about keeping your information secure and giving you peace of mind while using online banking.

You can remove a phone number any time after logging into online banking.

• Go to Settings > Security & Alerts > Manage Verification Code Delivery
• Find the phone number you want to remove
• Click Delete next to that number

If your phone is lost or your number changes, you won’t be able to receive OTPs until the number is updated. Log in with another registered device or contact us so we can help update your phone number and restore access.

Yes, but logging in from a new location or network may trigger an OTP. Make sure your registered phone can receive text or call messages. Avoid using VPNs, as they may trigger a security block.

First, check that your phone has signal and can receive texts or calls. Make sure the number on file is correct. If you still don’t receive the OTP, contact us for assistance.

No. Each OTP is valid for a single login and expires shortly after it’s sent. This ensures your account stays secure.
